Located in the heart of Jaipur’s Pink City, Hawa Mahal is one of the most recognisable heritage sites of Rajasthan. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh as an extension of the City Palace. This five-story palace made of red and pink sandstone was built for the royal women so that they could observe the festivities and daily life on the streets while observing the purdah tradition.
