Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, located at the foot of Mehrangarh Fort, is a unique ecological restoration project showcasing the rocky terrain and flora of the Thar Desert. Spread over 70 hectares, the park was established in 2006 to restore original desert vegetation and conserve Jodhpur’s fragile ecosystem.
The park is named after Rao Jodha, founder of Jodhpur. Once infested with invasive Prosopis juliflora (Bawalia), it was scientifically cleared and revived with native desert plants. Today, it stands as a successful model of conservation beside Mehrangarh Fort.
